Indonesia relaxes law on permanent residence for foreigners

Bali expats got a boost with the news the government relaxed the rules regarding permanent resident status. Said legislator Boy. W. Saul “”Basically, we agreed to ease the procedures for foreigners who believe they are entitled to Indonesian citizenship or permanent resident status.”

I believe I’m entitled to everything. The move is designed to attract and help those people who can most help Indonesia like researchers and investors. Well fancy that, we’re going to make life easier for people who can help us! What a concept, why didn’t someone come up with that one 20 years ago? I thwink I’m stwupid.

I won’t be putting on my party hat just yet. The devil will be in the detail. What’s an investor?

Btw, Carlos,

Are you living in Bali?

(Funny, I’m living in Mexico, hace siete meses y trabajo aqui como ingeniro para un empresa mexicana — soy un programador. Que haces alla en Bali? Espero que te gusta Bali).

Saludos,
Raka

Sorry I dont speak much spainsh, My Father is Venezuelan and his family(cousins)are split between Venezuela and Colombia. My Mother is Italian.

I live in Long Beach California, grew up in Southern California and have been here all my life. What little spanish I know came from my grand mother and the Mexican workers at work. :D

I’ve always loved the Island lifestyle but have been looking at Kuai mostly. Then these nine young Aussies(some which are my ages) put Bali back in the spoltlight and I’ve been reading tons about that place in recent weeks. And I like what I read!
