The Indonesian Embassy Singapore is located on Chatsworth Rd, in a tree lined section of town a short distance from Orchard Rd, the longest road in Singapore. A very pleasant part of town for sure and fairly easy to find. A taxi rank is right outside. My Wahab promised my passport would be back at 1pm and arriving an hour early he told me it might be 1.30pm. I had arranged to meet Fawzee for lunch at 2pm and didn't want to be late. Outside the embassy is a small open air waiting area. The sign says those wishing to enter must be smartly dressed and no shorts are allowed.
I saw a couple of familiar faces from Bali, people who I don't really know but see in Cafè Moka. The other people getting visa were westerners, including Russians, Aussies and other Asians. Temperatures were steamy and I was glad of a place to sit in the shade. Chinese touts shouted endlessly at each other, the volume stuck on 'loud'. It's interesting to observe different culture's way of interacting and their ideas about personal space. The Chinese attitude seems to be everyone else is invisible and act like they are in their living room. Spitting is illegal here in Singapore so there is no throat clearing and sidewalk splattering that you will see in Hong Kong.
My passport arrived at 12.30pm! Mr Wahab has got the system down and is very reliable. If you want to avoid, delays, questions, hassles etc. I think you should use an agent.

I am to visit Singapore and Indonasia. My booking has been done in Indonasia at Palau Batam, Riau, at the Waterfront City Kompleks from the 17th August to 24th August 2007. I sall be landing in Singapore on 17th and then by fary going to Batam. Almost every day we shall be going to Singapore. Please intimate if visa for Indonasia is required and if so single or multiple. Your reply urgently required. Ravi Varma.
