Workout over in Legian Bali

Okay I survived my workout and feel like a hundred dollars. Its a steam bath right now, and I am sucking down OJ like an alcoholic at an AA meeting. Getting myself motivated for a workout is never a problem. I have to ride down Jl. Legian, then deal with moronic Balinese drivers on Jl. Double Six. They really know how to fowl up a situation and yesterday in particular, we all sat in the baking sun while knuckleheads on motorbikes refused to let the cars through, nobody going anywhere.

By the time I get to the gym I’m ready to kill someone, so the weight rack is the beneficiary of my energy. Today I saw Gary, manager of Kori Restaurant in Kuta. A nicer guy you’ll never meet and for some reason he has paid a trainer to torture him. While I am slowly grinding out a sweat on the runner, poor Gary is on the floor with the medicine ball, doing push ups, sits ups, hitting the bag and doing his best not to faint.

Blue Ocean Beach where the gym is located is super affected by the weather. I guess all beaches are, but this beach has a line of restaurants and even they seem to get affected. When the sun comes out though its like the French Riviera.

Back at the house Jevon just peed his pants, Ana came back after taking a break and its going to rain soon. As long as my internet connection stays active they can all pee their pants as far as I’m concerned.

Hehe, good on you Nick, amen to that. By the way I checked out the prices at the gym in Kartika Plaza. They are offering a year for 3.5 juta including using the pool and a few other benefits, a free room for one night etc.

Any chance you can post some photos of your gym?

Good job sticking with your workout, in those conditions I think I’d end up saying screw it, give me a bintang.

Nick, why are drinking pasteurized oj out a box? You live in Bali, surely you have access to truckloads of oranges for fresh squeezed stuff. If not oranges, why not papaya or watermelon juice? It’s better than that boiled stuff.

I signed up 3 weeks ago. The price is 2m rp for a limited hours membership for a year, compared to the 4m rp they were asking for a year.

I don’t want to give them too much free advertising as they didn’t want to work with me on the ‘frozen membership’ part (I will be gone for 2 months and they want 100,000rp each month to hold my membership).

Anyway its a decent place and I go there, that’s all.

Out here if I don’t schedule some exercise it won’t happen. To be honest its the highlight of my day, apart from food I don’t leave the house much.

Chris I agree with you about the OJ. When I’m in a warung I ordered fruit juice. Its a convenience thing. I can swing by Circle K on the way home and drink it at my desk.
