Walking to the beach with Ika and Jevon in Seminyak Bali

Wednesday morning I got out of bed and looked around. Ika and Jevon had already taken off for a stroll. Thinking they were just round the corner I grabbed my camera and walked down the gang. My neighbors (Balinese neighbors that is) were starting their daily chores, giving offerings.

No sign of Ika and Jevon, maybe they made it as far as Jl. Dhyana Pura. I saw Ika at the bottom end of the street, walking in the road as usual. Indonesians have the mentality that as soon as their foot touches the main road, they’re in their living room and can mossy around without care.

Tracking behind her I walked step for step and ended walking beside her for about 10 paces before she knew it was me. At the beach Jevon wet himself as soon as his feet touched the sand and I decided to continue up to Jl’ Oberoi.

A morning beach walk is one of the clear advantages on living in Seminyak.
