My visa is up for renewal shortly and I will take a trip to Singapore for the day. I am on a Business visa, which was set up by Arjuna Immigration Consultants on Jl. Petitenget in Kerobokan. I have used them since I have lived in Bali and they have been pretty reliable. The deal is with my Business visa that the initial paperwork costs 2m rp to set up here in Bali.
I take that paperwork to an overseas Indonesian embassy or consulate and return to Bali. Upon landing I can bypass the visa-on-arrival (VOA) line and go straight through to the immigration officers. They will stamp me with 60 days, after which I can apply for a 30-day extension. In total 4 extensions are allowed, the first 2 costing 500,000rp each, the second 2, 600,000rp each. So I get to stay for 6 months altogether. When this 6-month period is up I must leave the country again, but do not have to pay the 2m rp set up fee, which is good for 18 months in total, as long as I am under the 6-month limit each time.
I toyed with the idea of doing the visa run to E. Timor (Timor Leste) and wanted to stay for a few days to gather some information on that area. The timing is not good right now as Ika is expected to give birth on the 29th or July 7th. My Business visa allows me to gather information relating to the tourist industry and also to attend conferences in Bali. To open a business here in Bali you need KITAS, the proper work permit.
Another company that gets good reviews is Kantor Kita located on the Bypass in Sanur.

G’day Nick,
East Timor would be a cool idea!. Or, you could even head over to Sabah or Sarawak but I’m not sure if you could arrange your visa over there. Be worth checking out eh.
hi Nick,
how much is the return flight to Singapore costing you? we are coming to Bali in about 5 weeks again and want to look into our next trip being Oz, Bali, Vietnam, Bali, Oz.
Hey Nick,
I’m curious about the ticket costs to s’pore too. Those 6 months must feel like they come around often. Is this going to be a lifetime thing or are you going to go for Perm. res status? (if there is such a thing)
There is no permantent resident status. Indonesia likes to keep foriengers feeling like tourists.
KITAS is another option. Its the full on work permit, meaning I would only have to leave once a year. The costs are double the Business visa and I would have to apply for an ‘exit visa’ from the Indonesian government each time I wanted to leave the country.
hi nick! why cant ika sponsor you?….shes your wife?…and you are married.all you have to do is to fill some application and ika ktp to bring it to singapore(indnesian embassy)she can sponsor you,and it less cheaper than your bussniess visa.the detail are same as above but it more convenient for you.^_^
