The evening scene in Seminyak Bali

This evening as the sun was going down I went for a walk down Jl. Dhyana Pura towards the beach. Around that time everyday people gather up and down the coast to observe the sun slowly sinking into the sea. I'm sure its the same at many tropical locations.

The early evening diners were already seated at Gado Gado at the end of the street and small games of pick-up football were in progess as I walked down to Jl. Melasti on the edge of Kuta. Its surprising how close I live to Kuta when I think about it, a walk along the beach doesn't take long at all. During my walk I had the inevitable approaches from drug dealers and gay guys (the beach is a gay cruising scene after dark), one stranger approaching and saying "Hey big dick, want blow job?" The answer was no, but I did want a beer at Blue Ocean which is where I sat for a while. That place attracts diners in the evening and it shows what little make-over can do.

While at Blue Ocean I sms'd Ray and Angie who are both in Bali. We will get together on wednesday for dinner. Dinner tonight was a Sop Buntut at Warung Baku Dapa. Its an entertaining scene there too, a combination of Indonesian ladies and their new western boyfriends and older gay guys and their young Indonesian toy boys.
