Taking Ika for a massage in Kerobokan Bali

Bali has so many things to offer and I’m not good at taking advantage sometimes. All my mates tell me I should surf, the nightlife is relentless and there is a huge array of fine dining places. Another thing that Bali is known for is spas.

Wanting to get the inside scoop on some of them I asked Ika if she wants to have a massage tomorrow. Not from me, from the massage girls at Puspa Ayu in Kerobokan. The price is 50,000rp per hour, which for a westerner is cheap. I have had a few massages, including a shoulder massages on the beach. My feet are ticklish so whenever someone touches them I’m turning inside out. Ika is a bit ticklish too, but might enjoy the experience.

Ika told me that the ladies who wander the neighborhood offering massages will give a local a massage for 15,000rp an hour. She thought 50,000rp was expensive. Being pretty tightly strung guy I often get tension in my neck, shoulders, legs etc. and having someone massage those areas helps. The ladies on Kuta Beach are friendly, but only know how to rub oil into you. The spas actually have people who can massage.

We’ll see how she gets on tomorrow providing she doesn’t change her mind.
