Sunday afternoon Ika, Jevon and I walked down Jl. Dhyana Pura towards the beach and visited our favourite swimming pool at Puri Cendana hotel. Walking past the first thing you will notice is the sign for Cin Cin restaurant and the cute little pool is next to the street.
Ika learned to swim while she was pregnant and has been eager to get back in the pool. Jevon is a big healthy boy at 2 months and loves going for a walk. We laid him on one of the loungers and took it in turns to keep an eye on him. Right now he can’t go anywhere but it wouldn’t very good me drinking a beer in the pool with an unattended kid.
Cin Cin has average food and its the pool we really like. Its small and usually not busy. The staff let us swim as long as we buy food. Today we had a cap cay, nasi goreng, a water and 2 beers for 91,000rp. Its not bargain basement but for access to the pool its okay. Ika has an ongoing battle of wits with one of the waitresses who is Balinese. This woman is quite goodlooking and is friendly to me, but not so friendly to Ika. When Ika has been here by herself she has been told to take her shoes off and get out if she doesn’t by food. When I’m here its all super nice. Today they both did the sickly polite routine ‘terima kasih mbak’. Ika asked for a bottle of water that wasn’t cold, because she thinks its not good while breast feeding. The lady told her they had no others, so Ika asked the male attendent and he brought one that was not cold. “Can you believe that?” said Ika. “She’s lazy and crazy.”
We had a pleasant swim and I can see both of them spending many afternoons here in the future.
