Morning at our house in Seminyak Bali

Today was another lovely sunny day and started off by eating an apple pie from Bread Station on Jl. Seminyak next to Bintang supermarket. Bloody good for 12,000rp. My house is a 2 minutes drive so very handy indeed. Arriving home I grabbed the owner of my house, Wayan who was dutifully giving offerings. Her daughter Nyoman is my contact person but I know who Wayan is.

Yesterday a section of tiles came crashing off of the roof onto the lower roof section. Made the maintenance man came over and using some very sketchy home made ladders climbed up to the top of the roof, about 30 feet, and fixed some of the tiles. I expect him to hit me up for money but those requests will be met with, Talk to Wayan.

A flu bug has been circulating and Ika got a taste of it from our pembantu Wayan. Both of them were chatting this morning with Ika feeling better, when Dia, a lady from Puri Bunda private hospital came over. She spent about 2 hours talking with Ika about the facilities and birth schedule and told Ika she gets a commission for every customer she signs up. No surprises there really. Puri Bunda is in Denpasar and is good. They have 4 classes of rooms and doctor Zakaria recommended not spending too much on the expensive rooms, otherwise, he told Ika, it would be Kasihan Nick.
