Meeting my agent at the Indonesian embassy in Singapore

embassy062905.jpgTuesday morning I called my 'agent' Mr. Wahab at the Indonesian consulate. He's a pretty efficient fellow and I actually got his cell phone number. He does not work at the embassy but knows someone who does. His office is the stand outside where people fill in the paperwork. The time was 9am and he told me to come immediately to the embassy to hand him the paperwork. The consulate is located close to downtown on Chatsworth Road and from my hotel a short taxi ride, costing $5.50. The taxis in Singapore are needless to say, modern, clean and the drivers have change! Mr. Wahab had asked me on the phone if I looked like Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt (the 2 choices for a westerner) and after a moments thought, I said, "I'm wearing blue jeans and a black T-shirt." As soon as I got dropped off at the embassy we picked each other out. I had used him once before about 18 months ago and he is very efficient with excellent English. I had expected the fee to be $440 Singapore but it was actually $240, good thing I didn't just hand him the money.

Mr. Wahab told me to be back at the consulate at 1pm so I took the opportunity to stroll back towards town along the tree lined busy streets. A chocolate croissant and a tall coffee at Starbucks cost $5.70. Outside the heat was making everyone sweat and I tried to stay out of the sun as much as possible.

Mr Wahabs phone is +65 9654 0870.
His email is shohib@starhub.net.sg
I have used him for several years for business visa & KITAS, always good service.
I very rarely go to the embassy, his staff will pick up the passport, money and photo from any central hotel in the morning and deliver the passport with visa mid-late afternoon. I think he charges a bit extra for this but it saves time and taxi fares.
