Hot property in Bali

This land is worth money and they ain’t making any more of it. If you have the cojones to slap your wad down on a piece of the ‘Island of the Gods’ you just might make out like a bandit

An article in etravelblackboard.com talks about the steady land prices and how there are many companies helping westerners get set up. The other week I talked to Richard from pp.bali.com, one of the premier development companies here in Seminyak. He told me that even though it is technically illegal for foreigners to own land, they can make it legally air tight for you. I don’t know anything about real estate or the law, so I’ll leave it to him.

Yesterday I met an aquaintance here in Seminyak wh told me he has bought a large chunk of choice property on the Bukit. He said the lawyer had his wife buy the land and sign a paper, saying she has borrowed a huge sum of money from his company, which has to be paid back before anything selling it. Something like that anyway.

Another expat (man I keep running in these guys!) told me he owns a block out in Canggu, with unobstructed view of the coast. He has bought the whole chunk down to the beach so no one can build in front of him. Very clever! With no building restrictions out here you can bet you life someone will build in front of you at some point.

Real estate is an exciting adventure for some people in Bali.

Thank you for the great article. I’ll be looking into the possibility of buying some paradise.
