Getting the kid inoculated in Denpasar Bali

Jevon has his last Hep B shot today at Puri Bunda hospital in Denpasar. Taxi fares have gone up since the fuel increases and the fare was 55,000rp each way. Thank God the innoculation was free.

We left the house at 3.30pm, myself feeling like bad crap after session of the runs. Second in line at Puri Bunda we were out of there at 5pm, which is a record. Just as we left a downpour started and continues as I write. Skies are grey and its looking like London in December outside.

Puri Bunda is on Jl. Gatot Subroto 6 and is a decent place. Jevon was his usual good sport and after getting stuck with the needle cried for 1 minute then shut up.

Toney, Toney, Toney….please look up the meaning of “run on sentence” for God’s sake; not to mention linking ideas between phrases. Give us a break!! “Taxi fares are expensive by old standards. Though inflation is running rampant in Indonesia. The economy is trashed.”

What drugs are you on, or is it just the Bali coffee??

Toney, where are you blogging from? Jakarta, Bali, or Singapore? Just curious. You seem to know Bali more than your average tourists.

Toney,

From your writings I got the sense that you must be connected to the land (indonesia) somehow.

Where do you live now? When did you leave Indonesia? Do you visit Bali often?

I appologize for my intrusion.

Hi Nick. We are moving to Bali from England on the 3rd of Jan. Have found your site really interesting. Thanks! I haven’t got the time to get my 2 year old daughters hep B done as am told they have to be done in stages, a month apart. Would it be easy for me to get it done there? Also I can have the jab as I can have an advanced one which my daughter is to young to have. The only problem is they are £35.00 a shot and my partner and I need 3 of them each, so is quite expensive, was therefore thinking I may as well wait and have it done there, as I cant imagine it will cost that much! Not really sure what to do, your response would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response! Not sure yet. have a friend living there, and just got sick of hearing what a wonderfull life he has. Just thought sod it, sold up and booked flights!! Never even been before! Now im starting to panic! I have an income coming in from the UK and some savings. So I should be alright financially. But would like to do something, as starting to realise its not as cheap as orginally thought. Visa’s, health insurance, a good Nursery etc. etc. Thought maybe jewellery, my friend (who lives in Bali) bought a load home last time he visited, was really lovely and incredible cheap!

Thanks, really needed that. I can come home as quick as I went. So why is it such a foolish thing to do? I haven’t given up a job, I can buy a new house, didn’t like the old one anyway, my daughters not in school yet, what have I got to lose? Really dont think I deserve to be called a ‘world class idiot’. I could think and think, where exactly is that going to get me. Why not go and see if I like it if I dont I come home. How does this make me an idiot, a world class one at that?

I want to experience a new and differnet way of life. That might take longer than a month. And yes I am bored….well done you, well I must be for dignifying your last comments with a response.

“Boredom means you don’t have enough goals and in your life.”

Thats right gimpy, everyone who’s bored should start supporting Chelsea.
