Cutting the jungle back in Seminyak Bali

Our house in Seminyak has a small area of garden which is surrounded by bushes. We also have a few palm trees over 30ft. In Bali the vegetation grows like crazy and the palm tress produce new fronds and bunches of seeds that hang high up. Many expats employee a full time gardener to handle the lawn, bushes and get rid of the dead stuff high up.

We actually do not pay for a gardener, the husband of our pembantu Ana, whose name in Ferry, shows up once a week and keeps everything neat. Today he was onto of the doorway hacking off dead palm fronds. He’ll haul them off to a concrete collection box outside and a truck will pick them up sometime next week. Very handy to people who like to help out. Raising Ana’s wages a while ago obviously had the right effect. She is so good with Jevon, its like having 2 mothers.
