Two of the people who came to the bbq last night were Cody and Jeff from Oklahoma (for those who don’t know, Oklahoma is OK). Cody has been out here for a month and Jeff 2 weeks, both living in Canggu. Their domain appraisal business allows them to live anywhere in the world. Cody moved here from Buenos Aires and Jeff from Dallas Texas. I asked them how things were going and Jeff said it has been a good move. One of the pluses is the selection of food and the prices. You can get a pizza at Trattoria for 9,000rp!
When they walked in the door the first thing Cody said was "Oh no you're still wearing that hat." (My USC baseball cap). Cody was wearing a University of Oklahoma hat and the 2 teams are big rivals. When I asked Cody how things were going he said things were good but he has had some rough time with the internet access. His job requires him to have about 5 windows open and all working fast. You can do business online here in Bali and the infrastructure in getting better all the time. Yesterday I lost one of my articles when the power went out as I tried to post. That is part of the deal out here, the unexpected.
I'll keep everyone posted on how Cody and Jeff do out here. The probability is that they will get homesick for wheat fields, hogs and neighbors called Billy Bob. We'll see
