In my opinion, Ananta Toer is without a doubt, a brilliant writer and a wondeful character. If you get a chance to obtain any of his books on your sojourn to Indonesia, I strongly suggest you have a read. His books ARE available in English text. He will be at the inaugural Writer’s Festival in Ubud in Bali in October.
