The World Cup soccer tournament in taking place in Germany in June. The World Cup happens every 4 years and features 32 nations competing over a month. I will be going and participating in a website, WorldCupBlog. One of the highlights for me is that Australia made it this time. I admire their fighting spirit, but think they will get slaughtered by their opponents, 2 of which are Brasil and Croatia.
For people visiting Bali during the World Cup period (June 9th-July 9th) you will not escape the excitement. According to what people have been telling me the locals go crazy over it and every bar is showing it. To be honest I reckon it could be a lot of fun, watching the World Cup in Bali. Go surfing in the day, get some food and enjoy the games at night.
Anyway that’s another highlight of coming to Bali this year.

We’ll be in Bali with our soccer mad 12 year old for the quarter finals. Any idea what channel the games will be screened on?
Not sure if we’ll have to go to a bar (one game is at 3am) or if we can watch it in our hotel room. And whether we can get it on local TV or need satellite….

I normally enjoy what you write and usually agree with it. I also love hearing about the updates on Jevon. Bu really the football comments geez!!! The Aussies might get slaughtered by Brasil but I reckon we will give Croatia a run for their money. And never forget the powerhouses of football often fail to perform - look at Italy and France last world cup.
