Last night the rain returned for a surprise visit and dumped a couple of inches of water on us. In the Seminyak area there are some puddles but down on Poppies II / Benesari there are mini rivers in places. I thought we’d seen the last of that kind of stuff till December.
I had a sandwich at the new Brasil ( located around the corner from the old one ) . They moved all the décor in and it feels the same. Along this section of the road you generally get some traffic jams due to the corner, potholes, speed bumps and today water. I enjoyed the view from Brasil and my little club sandwich was okay for 7,000rp.
Latest news from Internet Outpost. Endah is dating ‘greasy Joe’ the guy who always dresses in black from head to toe no matter the weather. He’s got a Mexican moustache and Endah told me the other day the thing she doesn’t like about him is that he lies. That should tell you something Endah.
Anyway a certain Japanese tourist has made a return visit here and told her she’s the apple of his eye. He wants her to go to Japan with him. I say go for it, you’re not making any money hooking tourists up to Internet Explorer.
I phoned a few people about having dinner tonight with Stewart and Christine and am 0-4. I’m thinking Mykonos will be a good time. Food is tasty, atmosphere laid back and not overly spendy.
Mozzies are eating my ankles right now as I type this so I’m wrapping it up here.

Hi Nick and everyone. Enjoyed our 19 days in paradise (except the part when Bev hit the dog). I think the main reason I keep returning to Bali is the unexpected feelings of amazement you get over such simple things. The day after Mades daughter was born I rode over to have a beer with him and thought of asking you to come along but decided you might find it boring. On arrival Made told me how he brought home the placenta, washed it, dug a hole and burried it then made a palm leaf shrine over it complete with the usual offerings. Riding back to Kuta I thought I wish I had asked Nick. On the next visit Made had roasted a pig and had it in his familys small temple area along with lots of other food and the local Banjar chanting and ringing a bell. Everyone went into the temple so we told Made we would go so that he could join in. He told us to stay as he cannot go into the temple area until the babies umbilical cord drops off. Riding back to Kuta with Samantha on the back and Melanie on the front I again thought I wish I had asked Nick. Spent the last afternoons looking around Jimbaran then Uluwatu and home past Padang Padang. Going up the hill to Uluwatu is a known police stop spot and all non Balinese are stopped. Cost me $20.00 to buy my freedom, Made said I could have bargained but I did not feel as though I was in a position of power. One word for anyone thinking of a trip to Bali……..GO.
Nick, that was some nice dancing last night. I think the black russians did a number on me. That Indonesian pick up line Stuart taught me worked well. See you soon.

Motor biking question for Stuart & Mick
Stuart called the Bali standard issue helmets “ping pong balls”.
Good idea to bring your own helmet if you plan to a lot of biking or overkill?
Thanks
