A perfect sunny day was the prize that awaited any newly arrived visitor to Bali.
Riding down the Bypass for my meeting at the Hard Rock Cafe I could feel the sun searing my legs…and I was wearing long pants. Sitting on the balcony of the Hard Rock sipping a coffee I watched some very clean waves roll in and beginning surfers like myself flap around trying to get the hang of it.
Traffic was moving pretty well today on Jl. Legian after the banjar roadblock was removed and I zoomed home and changed into something cooler. Lunch at Gossip was great as always, they do a soup which I have to try out sometime.
Riding around Umalas I ventured down smaller lanes than I have checked out before. I hear people saying there are a of places for rent and it seems to me there are a lot of villas. They fall mostly into the ‘being built’, ‘already occupied’ and ’short term rental’ categories. I have an appointment with Made from Bali Land & Houses tommorrow. He called me up and said “I have a house available, very nice for 33M rp per year.” I said “sorry too expensive.” He called back in 5 minutes after talking to the owner..”Mr Nick owner say 25M rp okay.” We’ll see what its worth tommorrow.
Right now I’m sitting in Internet Outpost listening to some poor sack on the phone talking to a chick in Surabaya Java. He’s an Aussie with about as much street-smarts as a nun. He’s asked this ‘kupu kupu malam’ to move to Australia with him and she’s been out all night partying…old habits die hard. Poor bastard has been on the phone for 30 minutes trying to get her to drag her sorry ass down to immigration…all the while ignoring the obvious. Man its fun doing a blog!

Barrie,
I don’t think that guy has even heard of a ‘kupu-kupu malam’ or ‘butterfly of the night’. He’s trying to date one and is finding out the hardway.
You had me google-ing on that one. Sounds like she’s a female dog of the street, not a butterfly of the night.

Was she (it) a He/she…….?
He must be in love, I wonder how much it cost him…..!!!
Nick, let us know about the place your going to check out, any pic’s etc too….
GOOD LUCK!
G’Day Nick,
I hope that ’street smart’ Ausie guy realises that a kupu-kupu malam is in fact Bahasa Indonesia for a prostitute!.
