Walking down Jl. Kartika Plaza this afternoon I saw that we have a multi-national tourist scene right. Plenty of Aussies and Euros, Taiwanese people and assorted strays from all over. Stopping by Yan's internet cafe on Kartika Plaza I said hello to a lady who worked there, who was the first person I met in Bali. Kuta Square, the narrow strip of shops between Jl. Pantai Kuta and Jl. Kartika Plaza was busy and full of touts doing phoney surveys. The only pieces of info they are interested in are your name and hotel. Next morning they will call your hotel and try to sell you timeshare.
Walking towards the beach I saw a beautiful sunset and once again was reminded how lucky I am to be living here. I caught the last 10 minutes before the sun hit the horizon and it was great. Two of the people I know here are leaving soon, one for a short term (Stewart, the surf board maker) and the other, Karen (photographer). They are both of the Palu crew and it's a shame as I will have a bbq on Sunday. Once again, any travellers in Bali who read this, you are invited.
