Warung 96

Today we had our usual breakfast at Taman Sari with Putu and Putra in close attendence and got work done in IO.

When lunch time rolled around we headed for Warung96, one of the most popular places in the Poppies Lane area. We both ordered a chicken sub sandwich that has chicken, cheese, egg, tomato, lettuce, mayo and other things. Very good for $1.50!

This place really focuses on the wants of surfer / backpackers and gets rewarded in the evenings. There are many sports related items on display that travelers may have left, who knows?

You’ve got to know who your audience is!

If warung 96 is too crowded or you want the best wood fired pizza & garlic bread we found in kuta, try warung leggard just across the lane from warung 96. We ate there almost everyday, sometimes breakfast & dinner (despite Andrea’s plea to try someplace new - her favorite splurge - Aroma’s cafe vegetarian, right across from Beneyassa II where we stayed).

Thanks D and A! We had not tried the place across the street yet. And we heard Aroma’s was good stuff too. Maybe lunch today there.

peace

I need to get in touch with one Ketut Sugita, a waiter at warung 96 and my nephew. Any good soul knowing him may give him my E-mail address in the USA. He is barely literate in English . We correspond but his mail gets here but mine does not get to him. Thanks, Mike
