Jl. Oberoi is often described at Eat Street because of its array of good restaurants. If you follow Jl. Oberoi to the end and keep going you run into Jl. Petitenget which itself is developing into Eat Street2, with places like La Lucciola and The Living Room.
The latest addition to the area is Venue @ The moon, which opened in March 2005. This place markets itself as a trendy higher end restaurant / bar / nightclub and Sean and I went over for breakfast today. Venue @ The Moon is really easy to spot by it large sign and impressive shop entrance. We arrived at 8am after our 4.5 mile run and were the only customers. The staff, numbering about 8 was smartly dressed in black and was all super friendly.
The dining area is located behind the central bar and features low style table. Open on 2 sides Venue @ The Moon does have a large air conditioner at the back pumping out cold air to help keep guests comfortable. We were fine and both agreed that people on holiday this place would be a nice location for a meal.
For breakfast I ordered the poached eggs on a tart with Hollandaise sauce and a side dish of sauteed tomatoes and black olives. Everything was delicious and I also got a Bali coffee. Sean went for muesli and a latte. Our bill came to 100,000rp which is okay for a nice place like this.
Sunday features the brunch for 60,000rp.
The dinner menu contains 9 main courses, which are western in design but originally produced. These are:
I think I will be back here sometime. Venue @ The Moon is a good option for visitors and expats wanting a new place with some style that is only a 5-minute drive from Jl. Dhyana Pura.
