Up in smoke in Denpasar Bali

Denpasar District Court was the scene of a little bonfire on Friday. Part of the fuel was the bag of marijuana Schapelle Corby carried through Customs way back when. Chief prosecutor I Ketut Arthana poured petrol on the pile and set fire to it. Also burned were Corby’s body board, fins and other drugs. Spectators said they felt dizzy after inhaling the fumes, in a scene right out of a Cheech & Chong movie.

Seems strange to me they would destroy evidence that has never been tested. If I remember correctly there was some argument over where exactly the drugs came from and doing a test might be able to shed some light on that.

Anyway, Schapelle wasn’t around to witness the event. One side note that is interesting, Schapelle Corby’s sister who is married to a Balinese man and spends a lot of the year in Bali, has never visited her in Kerobokan jail.
