Todays word of the day from from Kuta Bali is ‘Nanti’

I don’t like menanti for doctors. Today, though, I said to the doctor’s nurse, “pukul enam saya datang.” She said, “No, the office will be closed.” “When the doctor finishes with me, he can then close his office. Since I had menanti 3 hours for him, maybe he can wait malam until he is finished with me. A good idea, no?”

I think I’ve been told that “sampai jumpah nanti” means [colloquially] “see you later”.

Is that correct?

And how about “sampai jumpah lagi”?

Rex… It means “see you again.”

Yeah Rex,

Just say sampai nanti for see you soon (meaning later that day)
sampai jumpa for see you again
sampai jumpa lagi for see you again sometime (generally when you are not sure when you will be back)
