Thursday morning surfing on Kuta Beach Bali
Chris's friends Anil & Pria are in Bali for another day and we decided to all go for a trial surf on Kuta beach. I'd say quite honestly that none of us can surf and that only 2 of us have tried. One of the things that Bali has is surfing and it's great to force city people out of their normal comfort zone.
A friend of mine Alain (Frenchy) from Bordeaux, has lent me his mini-mal and so tomorrow morning we will pick it up at Palu's shop on Poppies II and head down to meet them at the Hard Rock Cafe. Palu advised that 8am-9am would be the time to get there as any later the surf could be too big. We have had quite big surf lately and I hope it's not pounding for us. The great ting about surfing is after you buy your board it's free, unlike water skiing or scuba diving. Beau and Kristi, our friends from Florida were planning to take up diving then realized this fact, so turned into surfers instead.
The other night Pria surfed the wall at Tubes bar in Kuta and stayed on as long as I did my first time! Alain really wants me to start surfing and told me to go for a paddle everyday, we'll see.
