This morning the sun was shining and the birds were singing as usual. My friends Jay and Debbie have gone up to Mt. Batukaru away from the crowds and Barrie and Candika arrived in Kuta yesterday. I tried to meet up with them but just missed them at Internet Outpost. It's cool for me because every time I meet an old friend I have another member of the family to introduce them too. This morning I went down to Cafe Seminyak next to Bintang Supermarket which were both open and drank a kopi Bali and ate a donut coklat for 12,250rp.
Wayan, a waitress from Tanah Lot was in very good spirits and told me she goes home for Galungan everyday, as Tanah lot is close by. Businesses like Bintang and Cafe Seminyak should do okay through the next few months as they attract expat traffic. Today in Seminyak most shops were open and there was a decent amount of traffic and tourists. If I owned a business in Bali right now I would advertise on Baliblog. There will be less tourists coming for the next few months, so getting in front of them early is essential. Some people will prosper, others will go out of business and ones mentioned on Baliblog will get first bite of the cherry. I hope we can help Bali rebuild strong and fast.

We started off with reaction to the Bali Bombings; Zachary Abusa blogs at the The Counterterrorism blog – he’s also the author of Militant Islam in South East-Asia.
For news on the ground we spoke with Nick (poor chap totally lost it with his nerves) of the Bali Blog . And we should also mention the excellent Jakartass blog , well worth a read for coverage of events in Indonesia .
