The World through the looking glass: Iran & WTO

The D8 ( Developing 8) conference involving 8 developing Muslim countries, in Nusa Dua, has ended. Nations participating were Iran, Indonesia, Egypt, Nigeria, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Turkey and Pakistan. Iran’s nuclear power dreams came up and we’ll have to wait to hear the full analysis of that discussion. Another thing that was discussed was Iran’s inclusion in th WTO (World Trade Organization).

The D8 group declared that Iran should be made a WTO member. To me that’s amazing. Iran wans to be a member of an international body, when it sees benefit. Iran doesn’t want to be a part of the international scene on occasions where it doesn’t. You can’t have it both ways. If Iran want to sell apples in the Big Market, its got to stop acting and talking like a thug. Makes you wonder how some of these countries ever get anything done.
