The last day of Ramadan in Kuta Bali

This morning I got my usual call from Sean in Oregon making sure everything was fine before he comes out on Sunday for a couple of weeks.

We chatted and I look forward to seeing him. When he gets here my brother Chris will have been here for a couple of days already. I’m sure we’ll of put a dent in the Dhyana Pura Bintang supply by then.

I told Sean that I was super happy to have my keys back and also picked up my machine today from Hengky at Global Xtreme who got his friend at Koko Computer in Denpasar to fix it. My Mojo is now working. The charge was 100,000rp and was totally worth it to save all the data and get me back in gear.

Today is a national holiday to celebrate Idul Fitri, the end of Ramadan and a lot of the businesses are closed including Bali Land and Houses. Yesterday was also a holiday and my favourite Javanese warung in Kuta, Warung Nikmat was closed.

I hit Kopi Pot on Jl. Legian in Kuta today again for their Bali Kopi and fruit with yogurt. Only other customer was a Japanese tourist and its definitely a down part of the year. Kind of cool to sit right next to the main street if you don’t mind the traffic fumes. Jl. Legian isn’t very wide at all but gets a lot of vehicles down it during a workday.

My friend Mark Platt is back from Burma (Myanmar) and I have prepared an article all about him. He’s a character and an honest guy to boot.

Here this evening in Kuta there were an abundance of Javanese tourists here to celebrate the end of Ramadan. Around 8.30pm the rain came lashing down. I of course picked today to leave my raingear at home and will probably get my third shower of the day sometime later.

Glad you had a happy ending with the keys, I’m ready to tear the head off a Bintang when I see one.
