The date in Bali is April 19th and that means we are out of the wet season. During Seans visit that started on April 6th we had torrential rain, a last-offering from the rain Gods. Visitors can expect to leave the umbrellas at home and get the scorching they have been promising themselves.
The next 3 months are usually dry with morning and evening temperatures coming down. In higher elevations, in places like Ubud, Bedugal, and Kintamani you can still expect showers and bring a light jacket or sweater. I was up in the mountains near Batukaru in January, the peak of the Steamy Season and it was chilly at night. Bali offers a way to beat the winter for some people and even better weather for people who come out during the European summer.
Right now the island is lush and green but as the dry season progresses large swathes of scrub develop over the hill of east Bali and parts of the north coast. Photographers should come during the wet season (Nov-March) to really capture the colors that bring an image of Bali to peoples minds.

G’Day Nick,
Good advice for photographers. The wet season has always been my favourite in Indonesia. The only problem being that Candika ALWAYS loses umbrellas!. No shit mate, in the last 7 years of marriage I can guarantee she has left umbrellas in taxis, becaks, restorans and shops!.
