Indonesian President SBY is turning up the volume on domestic terrorists. Five Indonesians who are accused of assisting others to spread terror, went on trial monday.

Indonesia has anti-terrorism laws which cary the death penalty. The 5 accused were arrested in Java in july and are said to have helped high profile JI (Jemaah Islamiyah) members in their operations. I love this! Don’t let people sit there and say “I didn’t know my room mate was a terrorist, I only carried is bag and dropped him off at the site.” People are accountable and when its put to them that they will be sent to prison, they might not be so keen. Of course the suicide bomber mentality is almost impossible to change, but hopefully fringe players will not be so eager to lend a hand in future.

Let’s hope that the judge, etc will do a fair trial… and punishments.
