Swinging through Sukawati Bali

Right after Celuk heading NE came Sukawati. This was midday and the famous Sukawati market was in full swing. There are a couple of 2 storey buildings selling sarongs, jewelry and other ceremonial gear as well as a market outside selling food. I’ve covered the market before, so didn’t want to dismount. I did however snap a shot of a young lady attending to the ceremonial needs of the temple on the street corner. She placed offerings to the Gods and slowly wafted the incense heavenward.

The sidewalk outside was piled with offerings to appease the demons. I bet every trader at Sukawati places something there everyday. Trade was good today with tourists from Japan and Europe strolling around. Sukawati is easy to, it is about 50 minutes from Kuta and the street side activity and vegetable market give it away (there is also a sign on the buildings).
