One of the pluses to living in Bali is the sunsets and Thursday evening I strolled down to Pantai Kuta to check out what was going on. Sitting upstairs in the Southern Cross, the 2 storey restaurant at Kuta Midway, I learned it has recently become The Oriental. The place was always low-key and friendly and very bare bones upstairs. It looks exactly the same except there are 2 huge Chinese lanterns and the Southern Cross sign is covered up. The new owner is a Chinese guy from Jakarta and the menu features Chinese and western food. Maybe he's hoping to cash in on some of those Taiwanese tour buses. If he can get them on a regular basis he'll do okay. I’ll still think of the places as the Southern Cross though. One of the waitresses told me she gets 400,000rp per month, that's $40, plus one meal a day. Not too much room for fun in that budget.
The sun was going down so I walked to the bottom end of the beach and caught the last rays of colorful light. Its great to be in Bali!

That $1.33 may not buy much in western world, but in Bali it buys more. $40 in indo has the same purchasing power as $160 in a western country. It is not much, but you can still buy food and survive.
I read it somewhere that the government mandated minimum salary in indo is now around $70/month. These business owners are paying them below the minimum wage.
Tony,
Chill out dude! I was merely stating the fact. I wasn’t making a statement for or against low wages.
Btw, who are you calling a nigga?
You seem to enjoy picking a fight with people, huh! take it easy dawg.
Tony,
You sound like those arrogant California brats.
Don’t Mess with Texas.
Let’s see, paying 70USD for what would cost… what, 500-600USD (I’m using Portuguese salary standards cause I don’t know how much a waitress earns in the US) is in Toni’s point of view taking advantage of these people. Well, it’s 12% or at the most 14% the wage of a Portuguese, so you must be right!
On the other end, you say you pay 2 week wages when you shop for sex… well, that’s about 35USD. Now in Portugal that may give you the right to a hand job from some ugly bich, but don’t expect much more than that. I personally don’t buy sex (it’s kind of an option I made), but its common sense that a good hooker can easily cost you 500Euro. At today’s rate that would amount to 611,44USD, so you’re paying 5,72% what you would pay in Portugal for the same services.
So now you see who is taking advantage from whom!
Tony: “I’m just exposing another useless hypocrite.”
Then, you must be doing a lousy job. LOL.
Keep trying dude. Just don’t hold your breath, coz you are in it for a long haul.
Take it easy dawgy.

It can only happen in OZ land. LOL.
Top 5 reasons why Tony prefers Bali hookers:
1. They so cheap that even cheapskates like Tony can afford.
2. Tony can not find cheaper hookers anywhere in the world with two legs. He may have to f-ck donkeys if he wants to pay less.
3. They have small size p-ssy hole that people with small short wierner like Tony can feel tight inside.
4. They are so subservient, that loosers like Tony can feel like a king.
5. Tony needs hookers, coz he does not know how to get sex anyother way.
Other top reasons why Tony like Bali hookers:
6. He is tired of being banged by homos back home.
7. He is tired of jacking off coz he can’t afford p-ssies back home.
8. he is tired of banging his car’s tail pipe, and every small holes in his home.
9. He can’t wait to spend his wellfare cheques on cheap whores.
10 His wierner is so small and short, it looks more like a wart.
Hi Tom,
You really do know how to wind Tony up. You both should get a blog site together and call it Tom and Tony’s Shit & Sex Flinging Blog.
I remember a few postings back that you told everyone to drop the subject about whoremongering after Nick said that’s enough and to respect his wishes.
Tom please don’t think that I am having a go at you because I’m not but the only thing I can see here is that Tony is just feeding off what you say and if you just let it go he might just go away.
I have heard from a friend of mine that you are a top bloke, don’t let people like Tony change that.
Natt.
Natt, Nick, Barrie, Godinho, and Tony
I appologize to y’all and everyone in this blog for writing rubbish. I have no excuse and I blame no one but myself.
Natt, thanks for your advice mate, and I am going to follow it 100%. I am going back to be my old self from now on.
Tony, I am sorry for saying those harsh things about you. It was uncalled for. Believe me, I never hate you even for a moment. Yes, I got mad sometimes, but I never wished you ill-will. I never meant all I said about you. I was just having a ball poking fun at you, but I admit it was wrong.
Hi Tom,
It takes a real man to admit that he is wrong and I respect you 100% for that.
The way I see it Nick writes this blog because he loves Bali and what it has to offer for people going there.
To Tony we know that you like sex but if you stop writting about it on every one of Nick’s posting then people would stop giving you such a hard time.
Nick I would like to say that you do a top job writting this blog and telling us about the wonderful sites you can see in Bali.
I will be seeing abit of it myself in 4 weeks time. So well done and keep it coming.
Regards Natt
Tom,
Irregardless of what has been written casting aspersions upon your character, I reckon you are an OK bloke and your comments are constructive and well received by those who appreciate them.
Tony,
Are the kind of person who likes to kick people on the head when they are already down on the floor?
C’mon dude…I have already given up the fight…and you have won….What else you want?
Haven’t you heard this?
Be courageous in battle and Magnanimous in victory.
From someone who comes here to get useful info on Bali and only just that, its easy to see you are a dickhead and will always be one.
The sort of guy you will always hear in the street before you see.
leuth,
I have already said sorry to y’all. Read my prev message.
Have you also checked out Barrie’s blogs? They are cool too, and have a lot of useful information about Indonesia and Bali.
Barrie, could you show these people the links to your blogs?
Wish you all the best.
Tom,
It should not be you that apologises. You are a cool guy.

I was actually ashamed at what I had become: a heckler. But, thanks to Natt, I woke up and turned 180 degrees before I became too corrupted.
All big a-holes started small, right? So, I don’t want to be a big a-hole, like some people.
Come on guys this has gone a bit far has it not.
Foul language tennis as i call it. Its quite ironic isnt it that as i peruse the site all of a sudden i notice 24 comments and think wow there must be something intersting there that has sparked that interesting debate. !
Then i look further and whattya know theres Tom Aand Tony S gooing at it slinging insults back and forth on the merits of getting layed and all the rest.
Got to admit though as i am quite open minded i had a laugh about it but doubt whether the average Bali traveller looking for interesting information would be interested whethter Tony S was trying to bang his car exhaust. Hee hee hee, sorry but i have nearly fell off my chair just thinking about it. Better let the car cool dowm first though Tony or it could be a bit painful on the old cork screw matey.
Good day bloggers
HEE HEE HEEE still laughing about it.
Over and out Marks logging out.
This blog is very wicked! Funy and informative. Very entertaining. Love it ! One can find all sorts of characters, from the very funny (tom) to the brick-headed (tony).
“Better let the car cool dowm first though Tony or it could be a bit painful on the old cork screw matey.”
I must disagree with you, Mark. Better turn on and rev up the engine way up until it sounds like a screeming hooker. Hee hee hee hee hee. Besides, the pressure from the exhaust gas will massage his old cork screw gently. It’s free too, except for the petrol. Hee hee hee hee.
If you want cheap hookers to bang, Surabaya is far better than Bali…
Hi Nick We tried too watch the sunset in Lovina and got hounded by all the sellers ofering their sarongs and crap at suset prices. It it the same in Kuta? Wish I could have got out of the pool when we were in Legion beach resort to watch the sunset there. Marc
