Today was steamer! I wore a regular cotton t-shirt today rather than the usual long-sleeve Dry Fit shirts that I’ve become accustomed to…man it felt like it was 20 degrees warmer.
The cotton insulates and acts like a wick with sweat.
Checking on my guest house business card holders in the Kuta area I said hello to some familiar faces and wished them selamat tahun baru (happy new year ). I could see by the state of my card-holders that business has not been great and people seem to appreciate the promotion that we’re doing for the island.
Internet Outpost was pleasant oasis from the heat with its good hardware and A/C. After dealing with life online I took lunch at Bamboo Corner on Poppies I. I tell you if you are on a budget this place offer superb value. After spending $15-$20 Australian for a sandwich in the Brisbane mall its was great to get back to reality…6000rp for my vegetarian sandwich.
A stop by Bali Learn to Surf on Pantai Kuta revealed a mini mutiny as some of the staff had quit. Too bad it’s a great outfit and the staff are good people. Matt the owner is teaching himself and you can’t get better than that so if you’ve ever wanted to learn to surf, get yourself on down to the Hard Rock Hotel.
AJ Hackett’s are enjoying their new revamped pool and are looking forward to a great year of bunjy jumping. Located at Double Six nightclub in Legian they are a must do for a week long visit to Bali. They are offering a 2 for one jump right now. I will jump again soon and you’ll all get to hear about it.
