Standard of health care in Indonesia

Indonesia is a developing country with a big population spread out over 17,000 islands.

Building infrastructure is difficult and often sections of society fall through the cracks. I just read that the level of deaths during pregnancy is comparitively high in Indonesia and this not only affects locals. Expats too have to bear in mind that if a hospital is not in handy reach for a pregnant mother, its also not around for a car crash victim or someone suffering a heart attack.

Living on the south coast there are 2 very goodclinic capable of operating and arranging air lifts. Both BIMC and SOS are close to the Kuta area.

Yes, Nick, this kind of data is very appropriate, and certainly a consideration if someone wants to live in Indonesia. Actually, tourists benefit from this as well.
