What's been going on?
Ika and I visited the Eco Lodge last year when she was pregnant. At that time we stayed in the little pondok on the side of a steep hill. I loved it as it was totally simple, we bathed from a huge pot of mountain water with a scoop and could swat in the outside toilet and be seen from 20 kms away. Ika did not want to come this time as they did not have hot water at the pondok. My place this time was the 2 storey place Linda has given me. It has a lovely bathroom, lounge area and comfortable bed. Hot water made this place complete. I tell you, Norm is a man with vision who gets things done. He carved this place out of the hillside and has managed to get electricity, home appliances and everything you could want up there, with the exception of the internet.
Richard and Rebecca have 2 daughters, and are moving to Bali. Their house was in the process of being finished when they arrived this time and is now finished. Richard is already building a recording studio and the local Balinese workers are there everyday getting the job done. In my opinion, they are capable of some high quality work, it's amazing. They live in very simple structures, but put up some lovely places and can handle all aspects including hardwood floors, tiling, stonework, roofs, you name it. Richard and Rebecca's house is 2 storey, all open, with a downstairs kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a lounge area. They have already become comfortable and I said to Richard "Isn't it amazing, here you are living in the mountains of Bali in your new house starting music projects!" It's all possible if you take the step and put your dreams into action.
