Singapore visa run coming up soon

Its getting to be that time again, time for me to renew the paperwork for my multiple entry business visa. This is the most costly time of the year for me in terms of visas. Arjuna Immigration Consultants are handling the set up paperwork for 2m rp. I have to leave the country for a day and process this paperwork in an Indonesian consulate somewhere.

I have done the run to Singapore before and have used Arjuna's 'agent' who can get the paperwork back to me on the same day. The plane ticket on Garuda is $260 and this plane is usually fully booked, so get in early if you need a visa run. Singapore Airlines is $370, no thank you. I am booked to leave on the 27th, meaning I will be 1 day over my visa. That will mean a $20 fine at the airport. Once in Singapore I will phone Osama Bin Laden (the agent) who will of received the paperwork fax'd by Arjuna. I have to pay him $400 Singapore dollars for the Consulate and $40 handling. When this whole thing is finished I can use the paperwork for a total of 18 months, but right now I don't need the hassle.

The travel agent has me on the waiting list for Sunday, meaning I won't have to pay the $20 for being over on my visa, but will have to get a cheap room. I prefer it this way because it gives me more leeway to get to the consulate on monday. Last time I made it with 5 minutes to spare after coming from Bali-Yogya-Jakarta.

Hi Nick,

Are you quoting Oz dollars or US dollars? I’m mentally tallying the different currencies and it’s close to a G-note in expenses just to get your business visa? whew!!

Anyone that is interested, the Australian dollar today is worth Rp7,450. Taking into account that I received that this morning from Java, then add another Rp100 for Bali and you have AUD$1=Rp7550

Chris its always $US with me, because more people have an idea of what its worth.

This visa run with cost around $750, but after that it will be less for the next year and a half. Just one of the things we have to dela with.

Not cheap Nicko matey is it….as you say has to be done bit a bit of a pain in the butt matey.

Well Nick paradise comes at some kind of cost matey eh ? But i suppose i would rather be spending it to stay at a nice place like Bali than some flee ridden shithole.

Hi Nick,

You trying to be in Singapore for the birth? Seems like your timing is off (or was that the plan?)
