Singapore, the clean, efficient, corruption free business haven, that used to give hippies frees haircuts on arrival, has once again amazed onlookers by trying to ban blogs that discuss politics.
The Singapore election is coming up and the old geezers who run the city state, just don’t like the idea of people talking about stuff. Much like China, Singapore seems to have a split personality, where it surges ahead economically, but feels the need to censor people’s expression and thought sharing.
Imagine trying to run Baliblog from there! I could post 50 times a day with the high speed connection, but couldn’t talk about anything important that might be happening to the country. Interesting g to see how far they get gagging their bloggers and podcasters.

Apologies for such forth right tone and words re education. Had a hard day with Australian 15 year olds who are rather rude. The schol you select should be one where a child get really good basics in Maths and language- or 2 languages in Jevon’s case. Teachers should be encouraging but firm, not discriminate and learning should be fun. Luckily you are in s society that respects teachers- unlike in Australia. Wish you well in your choice. I remember agonising over this. Follow your gut instinct about a school and do not be deceived by glamourous buildings if that is ever the case. Look for computer access and teaching too.
