Shopping:
I had two primary shopping objectives (and yes I do plan my shopping trips like a military campaign)-the first to buy all my Christmas presents and the second to buy as much stuff for myself as I could legally get on a plane.
Presents were easy - the quality of sunglasses seems to have improved and teenagers still love fake Oakleys; the current trend for bo-ho jewellery is easy to satisfy (actually-I've never seen so many beads in my life) and my favourite up-market fake handbag stores (if that’s not an oxymoron) are still in operation. There are two stores (standard white tiled, air conditioned numbers) on opposite sides of JL Legian near the intersection of Poppies Lane 2 which sell excellent and subtle fake Ferragamo and Dior bags-somebody please save us from those appalling Chanel and LV copies. The Polo stores in the same area are also still good value and the polo tops I bought should gain my father much kudos down at his local pub.
The DVD's and CD's are still great and even cheaper than before - we bought all of ours from the one place on Poppies Lane 2 and haven't had a single dud in about 100 disks, although some people at our resort had about a 30% attrition rate with theirs, so it pays to be careful. The shop we used was about halfway down Poppies Lane 2 on the RHS heading towards the beach, in a two-storey white building with the DVD outlets upstairs. As ever, buy stuff that is already released to DVD or you will get a cinema copy complete with coughing and bobbing heads.
A special note: Don't buy the bongo drums-you cannot get them back through customs without having them completely dismantled and therefore destroyed.

Sharyn,
That’s how tony is. He can be very abrasive and condescending but he does have valid points from time to time.
Tony, Tony, Tony…
That’s the point of the notes — so people can find good clothes that don’t look like rags. So young and yet so cynical — next time I’ll get you a special Bintang singlet.
