Like a bad dream that won't go away, the Schapelle Corby trial is set for Part II: The Appeal. Everyone on the defense side from celebrity Jakarta lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea, her Perth QC Mark Trowell and her Bali-side relos, are ecstatic about this.
The initial trial was heavy on emotion and light on evidence, for the defense that is. Testimony by Australian prisoner John Ford that he overheard Jimmy talking to Johnny about Jack, didn't count for anything and the Appeal will hopefully bring with some new evidence. Australian Justice Minister, Chris Ellison has suggested that video-conferencing is a possible way for Australian witnesses to testify.
I was surprised to hear Schapelle, who is still in Kerobokan prison, state that she was not interested in going back to Australia in a prison transfer deal. When I saw her I was surprised how tanned she was and with the 'day at the beach' deals they have going on here maybe its easier in Bali. Life in an Australian prison isn't going to include day trips and meals from the local steak house.
Recently Indonesian President SBY stated that he would never pardon a convicted drug trafficker, possibly to head off calls for Schappelle, or more likely the Bali Nine to be pardoned.

This circus kinda reminds me of an English childrens song - “Here we go round the Mulberry bush, the Mulberry bush….”.
Just saw this on Indcoup:
“Justice Lingga said there was really only one person they wanted to hear from. “We need the person who put it [the bag of marijuana] inside Corby’s bag.”
And that person better be a baggage handler at Brisbane or Sydney Airports. Also had better been on that day and able to establish working in the area where the bag transfers took place.
Nice try Hotman but my thinking is you already have the 500K to grease the judges, now just need a plausable alibi.
