News of dingo cartoons, Papuans and terror warnings have stolen the limelight from past occupiers of the media spotlight. The Schapelle Corby circus has been quiet for a while now, but a report that airport security cameras in Australia were not up to scratch has brought some of the cast back to life.
Schapelle Corby‘s lawyers have always claimed she is innocent, that the marijuana found in her luggage was placed there, by airport baggage handlers in Australia. Australian Justice Minister Chris Ellison had to speak out against claims by Schapelle’s mother Rosleigh Rose, that there were security breaches at Sydney airport, which were covered up by the Australian government. Said Mrs Rose “They have used my daughter to cover their own arses and it’s all going to blow up in their faces.”
This tactic really smacks of desperation and basically says ‘because nothing works perfectly all the time, there must be a conspiracy against Schapelle.’ Mr Ellison said that while 3 of the 66 security cameras had to be repositioned during the period Schapelle was arrested in, there was more than enough coverage. It all kind of reminds me of when OJ Simpson offered a reward to whomever could catch the “real” killer.
If Croby came from a drug free family then I would have had serious doubt about the case against her. But seeing how half of her family is a pot-head her arguments simply don’t stick anymore.
Now if she wants the lime light back then perhaps having a kid in jail would make headline news. Or better yet if she ever got threaten with transfere to another jail where she can’t have gormet meals brought to her she would simply learn to make the best of her time at Kerobokan.
All in all the experts agree that she will probably be out in 6-10 years. And the Bali nine will probably get out a couple of years later.
But the same experts agree that the ring leaders are toast!
Any media that carries a Corby headline is nowadays looks desparate.

If the cameras were working on the day of Corby’s departure then why does Sydney airport have no footage of her luggage or corby herself?? The camera’s were in the baggage handling area and on the same day baggage handlers moved 10kg of cocaine out of the airport…. Bit suss to me
Also for the fools who say her family are pot heads so she must be guilty are narrow minded people who know nothing of the case. All that crap is mainly media hype and bullshit!!!!! Sure the brother did something stupid but as for the father and other brother there is no proof and the dad’s police record is clean.
Why is it so hard for you to believe that this young girl may be innocent? If only the police and customs in Bali weighed her luggage to see if there was any difference when she checked in at the airport or the camera’s were working in Australia it would be proved either way.
