This proves nothing, just because you are photographed with someone doesn’t mean you are with them. Take for instance all the children photographed with the clown John Wayne Gayce, does that make them homosexual serial murders too? This is very flimsy at best and at worst just an attempt by the government of Australia to further punished the Corbys for having said a few unflattering remarks about their own government. I don’t think we should leap before all the facts come in, it would be extremely foolish on both parts.

Just a last point - I am in fact Australian although some may deny it to keep their own case clear…

why is everyone assuming the worsed on a story that has no subtance and no proff? The police can not say that the photo’s do infact exist and the reporter did not name his sorse of the infomation and no photo has been seen by anyone. Federal police also say they did not tell any reporters that the photo’s do exist. This is a case of a beat up story and possible hearsay that could damage Corby’s case.

You say that Rich forigners want to buy pot from only a trusted expat friend. Corby was not a expat of Bali and was only comming on a 2 week holiday. She hadn’t been to bali for 4 years prior. How could she be a trusted expat drug dealer. Think about it!

you fools know nothing of the facts. Her sister did not live in Bali. Her and her family were on holidays when corby arrived. They took holidays from work in australia and their kids went to school in australia……They are staying in Bali now to look after Schapelle.

I am a Corby supporter and I am not saying that the photo’s do not exist but no one knows if they do and the reporters sure don’t. Until the police release the alledged photo or say that it does exist how is it that everyone assumes that these hearsay photo’s show that corby is somehow involved with this arrested man?

well, i guess nothing is for sure in this world. So I say, lets not bother and let justice do its work. But you got to tell me one thing though. How the hell do you put 4kilo’s of grass unnoticed in someone elses bag? So she had to have left her luggage at some point (eg when going to the toilet). So who is so (can’t use the word stupid, nor retarded)absent minded, that even when back to the luggage, not feeling the difference between your handbag of 4kg or 8kg… or suitcase of 15kg or 19kg…

I applaud you, Tony! Great comments and I totally agree with you. Lets hope that the judges will get the photos and send her to prison for life. She should also be sent to another prison in Java or Sumatra, where conditions is far worse than in Kerobokan. After all the lies, she deserves nothing! Get her out of Bali and lets forget all about her!

The reporters may say her sister Mercedes lives in Bali now but she didn’t before Corby’s arrest. That is a fact! Every one who has followed this case knows it.

i am not going to fight with you guys on this one. but she didn’t live in bali. Mercedes and her husband moved to australia in 1998 both their children were born in australia they both worked in australia. This is FACT. They were in holiday in Bali when Schapelle was arrested.

OK lets just say she is guilty. 4kilos of pot is not really that much. With no previous convictions you might not even get a custodial sentence in the uk. She is 28 and if guilty made a very, very foolish mistake. She hasn’t murdered anyone, its not heroine, it dosent kill people. Every day people smoke it everyday. Does she really deserve to have her whole life distroyed over it. Ifact i would be surprised if she lasts a 20 year sentence therefore they may as well just kill her. Over what, a bit of pot! Come on lets get real!!!! The stuff is legal is some parts of Europe and is socially accepted in most, does she really need to pay for this crime with her life? OK she probably knew the risk and the penalties involved but who knows what she was thinking at the time. We shouldn’t be so quick to judge. And lets just say she is innocent, well it doesn’t bear thinking about.

Was thinking about what just said and acutally yeah you would get a custodial sentence I was thinking just possession not importing. But hey, wouldn’t be anywhere near that long. Thats what murderes get!!!

The photo’s were taken inside Kerobokan by Schapelle’s mothers partner. Schapelle did not know these two men, they were two of many Australians who visited her there earlier in her incarceration.
Mercedes and her family were not living in Bali at the time of her arrest. Wayan did not own a surf shop in Bali. They were living on the Gold Coast.
The other photo’s, supposedly of Schapelle with friends smoking joints were actually taken at a party around christmas 2001. The photo’s show a packet of Tally-ho (rollie papers) on a coffee table. They do not show schapelle or anyone else smoking joints. many People in Australia smoke hand rolled cigerettes as they are cheaper than the tailor made variety.
Hope this clears up any misconceptions.

When people talk about what is fair I think that fairness has nothing to do with this. Shappelle should have known what the penalties could have been. She made the choice to smuggle drugs for a quick profit and lost. I live in Canada and it is not fair that tax evasion will land you in the big house longer then if you are driving drunk and kill someone. Even in western countries we have laws that are clearly not fair. Yesterday an admitted drunk driver had her sentencing delayed until after the holidays so she could spend time with her family. Her victim is dead. Fair NO

To those who take delight in Schapelle’s situation I want to point out that the man who posed for a photo with Schapelle in prison, has told the press that they had not met before the photo was taken. He visited her only to offer his support. The allegations against him have not yet been dealt with by the court.

We don’t really know how the drugs got into her luggage, but why did the police refuse repeated demands from the defence lawyers to test the drugs for their origin? There were two plastic bags, one inside the other. Why did police refuse to fingerprint the inner bag?

For the benefit of those who have not already heard, the alleged drug dealer posing with Schapelle in those photos told the Adelaide Advertiser yesterday that he had not met Schapelle before the photo was taken and his only reason for meeting her was to show his support. Schapelle has been cleared.

To Nick I say: You have lived in Bali since 2003 but you are apparently unaware of the vast plantations of marijuana grown elsewhere in Indonesia – most notably Aceh, but also in North Sumatra. There was an article in the Jakarta Post on 9 January which you might find interesting: Police lost in a haze over marijuana plantation. As for your theory that marijuana in Bali “is probably low quality”, I think you are using the unfounded claims of other people who, like yourself, are desperate to protect their Bali livelihoods at any cost. I think your casual condemnation of Schapelle Corby is prompted by self-interest and does nothing to make this world a better place, Bali included.

To Andreas: Schapelle checked in her luggage at Brisbane airport around dawn and did not see it again until she arrived in Bali many hours later. Your notions about it being unlikely that anyone would leave their luggage unattended is simply not relevant to the case. And it was her brother James who carried the bag at Denpasar airport – not Schapelle. These facts were widely reported by the media and acknowledged by the judges in their final verdict.

Schapelle was denied access to this vital evidence which made it impossible for her to mount a successful defence.

Free Schapelle – Innocent Without A Doubt

Sergio, Mercedes, or whatever your real name is, I am well aware that a lot of marijuana comes from north Sumatra. I visited the jail in Kerobokan and its full of guys from there.

As far as being desperate to protect my livelihood, I can do that already, so no worries.

As far as Schapelle Corby being innocent, all the Aussie expats and Aussie media I talked to personally, told me she was guilty and gave anectdotes on why.

I think its sad to see a young woman in her position, and she is definitely not the worst person in the world. However, she did some things to put herself where she is right now. Namely hauling 4kgs of Mary J through customs.

Still debating Corby? She’s guilty as a matter of law, fercrissakes. Let it go!

Come on, the whole family are involved in drugs. She thought her looks would get her through and she was wrong. Are you telling my she didn’t relise the bulge in her bag before she put it on the table. Let her rot where she is, her sister, brother inlaw and brother should be locked up with her.

I have a great book you should read, written by a Mr A Hitler, where he states that he is inocent of any crimes and that he was wrongly acussed of any wrong doings. You would probably believe that as well. Did you think that she was going to write a book admitting everything.

cmon guys its common sense, all the real facts add up to her innosence. people just dont want her to be innocent! everyone just wants to think the worst. she was set up and thats all there is to it, if the bali police actually did there job properly they would have found that out. the truth will come out, you’ll see.
