Saturday June 27th in Kuta Bali

Saturday was a day to be at the beach!

What started out as a mixture of sun and clouds ended as a lovely sunny afternoon. I spent the day working on my hotel report, making sure I spelt the name of the place correctly and linked to our site and not Lonely Planet.

The road work on Poppies II and Jl. Pantai Kuta is moving along and sections have been filled in and tiled. I must say those guys are working round the clock and I take my hat off to them. For newcomers downtown Kuta seems likes a building site.

The other day I went to Ubud to check out the Biyukukung Suites and Spa which is a neat little place tucked away close to downtown. Ubud really has a ton of cozy little guest houses and guest houses down the streets that run off of the large roads.

Tonight in Kuta I was going to go for a pizza at Warung 96 on Poppies II but the place was packed so I went to the Muslim place next door. There are actually 4 warungs facing each other with stone pizza ovens. I chose a vegetarian pizza and together with a small beer the bill was 26,000rp. It was okay but I’d sday if you want real pizza go to Papa’s Cafe on Jl Pantai Kuta.

While walking along Jl. Pantai Kuta I bumped into Camille one of Josh Grillo’s friends from N. Carolina. She is here doing some jewelry work and will go home in a week or so.

An article in the Jakarta Post concerning Indonesians illegal immigration shows how desperate people are to seek a better economic future. No messing around with the sentencing in Singapore either! I’d like to see Tony Blair get 30 months and 6 lashes for being a puppet and lying.

I see plenty of Australian new arrivals out on the streets and hope they all enjoy their time here.

G’Day Nick,

You’ll be seeing a lot more Australians along with their kids soon because it’s school holiday time here in the West!.

Rick has a point - Will it work when the rains come. I can just imagine you Nick parting the waters in PL2 with your motorbike!

Mark, Cherie Blair already looks like a pooly dressed benchong and Tony sounds like he wouldn’t mind meeting one, so they’ll fit in up in Seminyak.
