Here at Global Xtreme internet cafe and ISP in Kerobokan Bali I have been working in peace and quiet on articles and have just noticed its getting dark outside ( now 6.15pm ).
We are almost at the end of the Kuningan celebration and many of the familiar faces here are absent, no doubt in their villages taking part in rituals. My cleaner Katut didn’t show up today and I’m sure she’s out in Karangasem where she’s from.
The other night I had a beer at Santa Fe bar and a bunch of the banjar guys were sitting next to me after a meeting. One guy told me about the gathering in Serangan on Sunday and I want to get down there.
Just got a call from James from Hawaii who is here with his friend Chris. They are trying to out-do each other with restaurants and he wanted my suggestion for top end places. I suggested Gado Gado on Dhyana Pura but they’ve already been there. I followed up by suggesting Toscana on Jalan Oberoi and offered Gerry Williams’s site BaliEats.
The guys might make it to a couple of bars after so I told them to give me a call. I’m sure Chris and Sam will be out tonight too as will Josh. We’ll see what happens. My plan is to clean the house then get something to eat…..oh and that half open bottle of wine Chris left is aching for company.
