A cracking day today with a cloudless sky and warm temperatures.
As I was typing on my back porch area this afternoon I got a call from Miguel, an American friend of mine who wanted to know if I was interested on going on a road trip. I told him I was planning to stick around and maybe do a bbq. “Bbq!!!” he explained, “thanks for telling me you had a bbq.” He was driving in Kuta traffic and after I told him I bought it at ACE Hardware he said “Wait a minute I’m turning round right now and going to Ace to pick myself up one.” Maybe I should figure out a deal with ACE.
The construction work on the storm drains is proceeding in the Kuta area and this means heavy traffic congestion. It took me about 40 minutes to get from my house to Pantai Kuta. Poppies II has just been blocked to traffic at Jl. Legian and with Jl. Benesari being blocked from accessing Poppies II to motorbikes and cars my route is now through Poppies I.
I’m thinking of not even using lower Jl Legian for the foreseeable future and simply taking the Bypass from Seminyak to Imam Bonjol and swinging round to Pantai Kuta.
In a turn of events Indonesia has issued a travel warning on Britain. I just can’t win, wherever I go its dangerous.
Indonesia itself is still in the process of counting the votes from the parliamentary election.
The other day I bumped into Jeff Burnham who is over here hoping to volunteer as an English teacher. The organization he was going through basically have no money for the courses and as yet Jeff hasn’t got to teach. Let’s hope things work out for Jeff.

Funny that Indonesians are being warned off coming to the UK, wonder if they have the inside track on what’s going to go down.
Tell them not to worry, we can’t have a few Bin Laden groupies messing up the economy.
