This afternoon while riding to Umalas I passed Globe Cafe, on the road to Canggu. Just after that is a sharp right hander and on the corner is a babi guling (roast pork) shack. Looking up who should I see? My ex-girlfriend Yumi. She waved me over and told me the place belongs to her mother. I immediately spotted her brother, who looks just like her. Her mother was there and was totally cool too, no worries that we had dated and split.
Yumi’s name is actually Made Yuni, but there was already a Yuni at Stadium Cafe where she used to work, so it was adjusted to Yumi. Yumi is back for 2 months from working on cruise ships in the US. She was good vibes and told me although she had to work 14 hour days, she could save money. I asked her if she was sudah kawin (already married) and she said “No, I’m waiting for you.” Trouble!
Maybe I’ll pop round for a plate of pork fat and a chat.

G’Day Nick,
Is this the same Yumi that continuously phoned you and left sms’s?.
Why didn’t you just tell her straight out that you are now married to a beautiful woman and have a lovely child. that would have put the stoppers on her right away.
Ya, Nick why didnt you tell her about them (wife and child) ? Barrie…. why should Nick tell her, Yumi not gonna sms him again then.Trouble !
we met with lots of balinese working on the cruise ship when we were on hols around the med back in Sept. out of 400 crew, 200 are balinese. we chatted with them throughout our hols at the restaurant/bar(and while their italian boss not watching!). they worked extremely hard and slept very little. majority are gave up work in bali after the 2002 bomb, left their family/loved ones for 10 months contract to work for the cruise liners.
