Sunday afternoon I decided to take a ride on my motorbike somewhere away from Seminyak and headed up towards Mengwi. In that area you have a few things going on, Sangeh Monkey Forest, the Crocodile and Reptile Farm and the temple at Pura Taman Ayun, the second largest in Bali. My route took me north through Kerobokan and heading towards Tabanan I turned off towards Mengwi. I like getting lost (I get lost sometimes whether I want to or not) and exploring the small roads that run perpendicular to the main roads. Riding down one road northeast of Mengwi, I passed through the small village of Kedampul and stopped to observe the local temple, which was adorned with faces of the mythological characters often seen in Balinese mythology.
In some of these small villages it amazes me how so much effort has been made to design striking temple that contrast to the natural backdrop of rice fields. I stopped to talk with a couple of locals and then continue along the village of Abiansemal, enjoying the un-spoilt views and quiet.

G’Day Nick,
The most beautiful and interesting things are found whenever ‘one gets lost’ - intentional or not.
