Ride to Tabanan Bali
The clock is ticking and soon I will be leaving on a jet plane for Germany, to watch the FIFA World Cup 2006. Before leaving I wanted to take a cruise in the mountains, so this morning I headed out towards Bali’s ‘rice bowl’ Tabanan.
The sky promised rain, but that didn’t put me off, in fact it inspired me even more, as I knew it would be cooling and I would get cover from the searing sun. My poncho was packed under the seat, ready to go, and with my handy GPS strung up on the handlebars I hit the road.
Crusing through the ploughed fields in the lowland area, my plan was simply to get to the main road heading through Tabanan, to Antosari, then head north towards Pupuan, maybe doing a loop, if I had the time.
