Pura Luhur Dalem Bongan Kaja Bali

A sawah-side temple in Bongan Kaja allowed me to climb of the motorbike and stretch my backside. The small temple was deserted, but I was able to check it out from the outside. The sign said ‘Pura Luhur Dalem’ temple of the dead. This is where cremations happen and is a special place for people of the village. While looking at the temple a family strolled down the hill. They consisted of a mother, father and 2 kids, dressed in their school clothes.

The father was a picture from 100 years ago, walking along with a bamboo hat, hoe and a coconut. He loved having his photo taken and kept looking around grinning from ear to ear.
