Power outage in my house in Seminyak Bali
We have had a power outage in my house today and I am waiting to see if the landlord can get me some juice before it gets dark. Ika and I thought it was the whole neighborhood but the guys next to us were playing music earlier. Here in Bali we pay our electric bill monthly to the landlord. The bill is calculated by use and can be 250,000rp. We paid one very recently and maybe the time it took to get the money back to the company made them cut us off.
Anyway I am lucky because there are internet cafes close by and the one I am using right now, located next to Circle K on Jl. Dhyana Pura has AC, large screens and new machines. The rate is 18,000rp per hour for decent connection.
My 2 bedroom house cost 25m rp for a year, which isn't the cheapest, but is a decent deal for the area. Other expats have told me it's an okay rate for the area and there is a lot of junk on the market for 15m rp. We don't pay for water or garbage, but do have to pay 20,000rp for a police report any time we have guests over 2 days. Indonesia has a control complex about foreigners and requires hotels to inform local police of their foreign guests.
