Poppies Lane 2 – A Popular Laneway

14One of the most well-trodden routes in Kuta is, without a doubt, Poppies Lane 2. Running west to east from Kuta beach to Jalan Legian, this one-way alley has traffic on a constant basis; predominately motor bikes who use it as a shortcut from Jalan Legian and always going against the flow of the traffic. This adventurous activity can be dangerous for those walking along the one and only narrow path.

Poppies Lane 2 is a popular place mainly because of the great warungs and restaurants along there. Add to that the plethora of shops, money-changers, internet cafes and a variety of budget accommodation, it is understandable this lane resembles a freeway at peak-time. A majority of people use it as a short-cut to the beach and at the beach end there is a short part of the lane where small shops are huddled close together. It is here the lane narrows adding to the adventure of walking down there; especially at night!
