Poppies I & Pantai Kuta Bali

This morning I finished off checking out the rest of the accomodation options along Poppies I in Kuta. There are many places, some worth the price, some not and some not worth any price.

There are some sizeable chunks fo property in Kuta behind the facade of the narrow concrete street.

For travelers who have been to Bali and who are not familiar with Poppies I its the narrow lane next to the big McDonalds along the beach. I think its wise to stay clear of this place as well as the HardRock and Starbucks till after the bombing trials are over.

While I was visiting some of the guests houses and hotels I caught glimpses of the trial of Bali bomber Amrozi which is going on in Denpasar. I saw a judge reading a long list of charges and talk about the details of the charges as Amrozi sat looking down at the floor. He was dressed in white robes and wore a white and green Islamic kopiah ( hat ).

Pantai Kuta is always a hive of activity whether it be Japanese newly weds, bus loads of Indonesian tourists from Java or Americans looking for that last Big Mac before flying out.

On the beach I saw a group of British guys who had just arrived. One of them, who I shall call Pinkman had already done his best to sautee himself and was going for a refreshing dip in the salty water to help the peeling process.

G’Day Mate,

Wise advice about staying away from anything remotely associated with the Western power.
Unfortunately the ‘Braindead Dogs of War’ now have the incentive to upscale their henious acts of destruction. No place is immune from these bastards and we can only hope and pray that they stay away from Bali. Alas, I fear this might not be the case.

Shit, Mr Pinkman needs some Pink Zinc before he gets served up with an apple shoved in his mouth!.

Mr Pinkman!!! What a classic!
I know whilst hanging out in Bali with Husband & his friends… That Unfortunately the local people are withdrawing themselves. It may not have seemed like it, on a Saturday night especially down Jl. Dhyana Pura.
But I know Gede felt uneasy about going out! The night we went to Karma Sutra he was a bunch of nerves. We did not stay long as he said he felt wary of everyone in the place. He said he never goes out in Kuta on Saturday nights.
One day we went to Matahari on Jl Legian, they made us all get out of the car & checked it over before allowing it to be parked in the underneath carpark, I asked if they had had any threats, if so I could come back later! They just said it was precautionary, but it did make me think!
